Ready For The Challenge

It was an amazing long hike to Lake Serene and considered a difficult trail with rocks, narrow trails and 3-4 hours for those who are up to the challenge.  Jesse Tam, once you reach the lake and see the clear blue, green water with snow visible and beautiful mountains...oh, what a place to reflect and take in the sites of nature and the fresh airy mountains...

The trails are crowded on weekends and parking is difficult so you may need to walk a mile or so to just reach the trailhead to begin the challenge.  Be prepare before you go with water, comfortable shoe, layer clothes, survivial items and stay on the marked paths. You'll see all age groups and some people with young children on packs, dogs on leashes enjoying the hike to the falls and some onward to the lake.  If you are up to it, some swim or take a dip in the cool waters of the lake.

Pack a lunch or snack along your hike but remember to remove all your items and travel light.  Hiking poles will be useful on the steep and narrow trails.  https://jesse-tam.blogspot.com/  Stay connected with more outdoor discovery.  Below is a view of beautiful Lake Serene - Jesse, a place to reflect..

Summer Heat and Outdoor Activities

Summer Heat and outdoor activities, Jesse Tam. The haze and recent lingering smoke from British Columbia and local fires made the hot days difficult for many of us to spend time outdoors. the summer sun and heat with no measurable rain at SeaTac marks 51 days of dry weather since 1951 Our week will continue with 80 degrees ahead and the dry stretch will continue.
  • Stay cool at home by closing drapes and shades during the morning or afternoon sun.  This can reduce heat entering your home.
  •  Use fans and cook with small appliances instead of using the oven to keep house cooler.
  •  Check air conditioning to make sure it is working properly or installed if you are using window or room air condition.
  • Limit your exercise and activities outdoors.
  • Make sure pets have plenty of water and shade to stay cool.
  •   Plan walks with pets during early morning or early evening when pavements are not hot, paws are sensitive to the hot surface.

Be careful under the hot sun and remember to take small breaks. Jesse  https://jessetam.com/  Watch for weather alerts and warnings.
